Finally reached Redding about 7:30pm and I’m moving on. One advantage having the Honda is the gas tank. It’s big and that’s all I’m going to say about that. Just before I hit the border I stop at a rest stop. I’ve grown to like rest stops.
I finally meet up with Julie at this leather motorcycle shop in a strip mall. Followed her back to her house. Great back yard, I could live there. It wasn’t lone before it started getting dark. That’s when Jim showed up.
We all had a fun night sitting outside around the fire pit telling tall tales. The next morning our plan is to all get together and ride near water, Warren likes the water. Here we are heading to meet Danny and Warren.
This is the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and they are building a new one right next to it. It is very impressive. I crossed this bridge several times while in Washington and was awed by it’s size every time.
Here is Jim’s skunk. I was kind of sad when I first saw it because it’s almost back to stock. Just sad to see such a great bike slowly being put out to pasture.
From here Warren and I decide to ride up to the floating bridge. The rest of the crew headed back. I know riding with Warren is always exciting. And I needed a little motorcycle excitement.
This ferries in Washington or great for motorcycles. You get to go to the front of the line, you get loaded first and you are first to depart. Great fun.
Once we departed the ferry we zipped up and hit I-5 just north of Seattle. I didn’t get any more pictures because of the speed we were doing. We got back in record breaking time. It was dark by now.
Julie pulled out this shirt with a lot of signatures on it. She wanted Warren and myself to sign it. I was honored and it was neat to see signatures of other VOL members on it. Thanks Julie!
The next day Jim and Julie had to return to regular life. I was to drive over and meet Warren and Dan at his breakfast joint. We had some good food and then it was on the road we went. Dan was to lead us for the day.
