Finally reached Redding about 7:30pm and I’m moving on. One advantage having the Honda is the gas tank. It’s big and that’s all I’m going to say about that. Just before I hit the border I stop at a rest stop. I’ve grown to like rest stops.

I’m buzzing down the freeway and come across these figures. I have no Idea what they are.

I give Julie (avol2) a call and she’s still at work so I need to kill a little time. I decide to go west on Hwy 12 and then turn North on Hwy 7.

The views are getting better. After riding I-5 for several hours it was good to see this.

Ummm… farm lands.

Still kind of straight, must be some turns up here soon.

Another statue, Must be a state thing.

Mt Rainier.

Once you get to Hwy 7 the twisties begin to start.

And the views improve.

I finally meet up with Julie at this leather motorcycle shop in a strip mall. Followed her back to her house. Great back yard, I could live there. It wasn’t lone before it started getting dark. That’s when Jim showed up.

Then I got to meet Rick, Julie’s Husband. Great guy!

Warren finally showed up and now we have a small party going. If you ever see Julie ask about the chocolate tasting drink with no chocolate.

Here is Julie and Warren.

We all had a fun night sitting outside around the fire pit telling tall tales. The next morning our plan is to all get together and ride near water, Warren likes the water.
Here we are heading to meet Danny and Warren.

Quick stop to see the Sound. It’s not a bay, but several bays. It’s good to see the ocean as it has been awhile since I had been to the water.

It almost looks like there are many islands but there are peninsulas.

Julie and Jim ridding together and I have the photo to prove it.

Ridding makes Julie smile. I see this again and again.

I know this picture is not clear but it is Julie on a bridge. Amazing! She kicked butt this whole day.

This is the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and they are building a new one right next to it. It is very impressive. I crossed this bridge several times while in Washington and was awed by it’s size every time.

Here we are meeting up with the rest of the group. They had just finished downing about 10 cups of coffee and were ready to go.

Here is Jim’s skunk. I was kind of sad when I first saw it because it’s almost back to stock. Just sad to see such a great bike slowly being put out to pasture.

And off we go. I hope we get to see some water today.

Here is Danny proving that he will ride on dirt.

The road was slow sweeping twists and the weather was great.

Julie showing us how it’s done. And in style.

In Washington they have a little trick to keep motorcycles at low speeds. They put up these signs everywhere that say..

And this

This was a tight group. Everyone choose there side of the road. It was like a 10 wheel semi rolling down the road.

This is Warren’s speedo. I like it because it goes to 180

I guess Warren and Jim started getting bored and started waving to everyone. I mean trucks, cars and bikes.

Julie and Jim at the reservoir.

Warren. Danny, Jim and Julie getting ready to ride.

This is the way Warren normally drives. Don’t get to close.

Time for a little Pizza and a cold drink.

From here Warren and I decide to ride up to the floating bridge. The rest of the crew headed back. I know riding with Warren is always exciting. And I needed a little motorcycle excitement.

Wow, isn’t that a military ship?

Here is the floating bridge. It doesn’t look like it’s floating.

I need a better look. Still doesn’t look like it’s floating.

Nice shot of our bikes.

Warren and my self..

From here we decided to catch a ferry over to I-5 and go back that way.

This ferries in Washington or great for motorcycles. You get to go to the front of the line, you get loaded first and you are first to depart. Great fun.

Here is Warren from above.
I think he was chatting with the Harley Guy. He turned out to be pretty cool and kept up with us until we hit I-5.

The boat leaving.

Once we departed the ferry we zipped up and hit I-5 just north of Seattle. I didn’t get any more pictures because of the speed we were doing. We got back in record breaking time. It was dark by now.

Julie pulled out this shirt with a lot of signatures on it. She wanted Warren and myself to sign it. I was honored and it was neat to see signatures of other VOL members on it. Thanks Julie!

The next day Jim and Julie had to return to regular life. I was to drive over and meet Warren and Dan at his breakfast joint. We had some good food and then it was on the road we went. Dan was to lead us for the day.

Here is Warren

Here we have Danny boy surrounded. He was a great leader and rider that day. At times it was hard to keep up with the speedball.

He didn’t even flinch when Warren got up real close to him.
